EVA – THE FIRST FEMALE MODEL IN HISTORY
EVA is a work consisting of about 7500 photographs taken on a daily basis from 14 December 2016 to 31 October 2021. I photographed an old female mannequin without arms outside a flea market, dressing it in different clothes each time and keeping the light, position, background, and verticality of the shot constant. EVA was conceived not only as an artistic project, but also as an anthropological-cultural investigation related to quantity, continuity, variability, and place. A preview of this work consisting of 750 images was presented at the ARTantide Gallery in Verona in December 2021. I was born a painter. My father was a painter and my artistic training developed from my father’s influence to the academic route. Since the 1970s, my artistic and expressive interests have lain in conceptual art, an area from which I have never strayed. This variation, designed as an NFT of EVA, represents an opportunity to return to the origins of my education in painting. The format changes in this variation. The image is square, the background in contrast to the previous edition changes constantly depending on what the mannequin is wearing, in a very long series of abstract digital works. In this new version, EVA is both a conceptual work and the formal, chromatic expression of my artistic sensitivity.
